Connection with nature
Year: 2017 – present
The connection with nature is dear to me. A connection that has become much deeper and richer during my two trips through New Zealand. The purity of nature, all shades of green, the ruggedness and beauty have deeply touched me.
Alone in a kayak, paddling on a quiet river with my photography equipment in a sealed waterproof bag was both exciting and the most beautiful thing I’ve ever done. And then to take photos of this magnificent scene that is almost too beautiful to believe.

The feeling of adventure, of not knowing where your tent will be a few days later is fantastic. Going on a discovery and being overwhelmed by a new path, a new waterfall, starry sky or sunset.
My photographic quest was to capture the splendor in a way that leaves room to get lost in. So no people, or as few as possible, the openness and pristine nature of the landscape and myself as much as possible as a participant in the photography. Seeking out places where you have something to look for not only as a photographer, but also as a person. Places where I myself was also touched by what I saw, photographed and experienced.
Sleeping alone in a quiet bay, surrounded by trees and under a beautiful starry sky, dolphins jumping out of the water during the day, beautiful sunsets and bioluminescent plankton on the beach at night. How can you do anything but count your blessings and want to take beautiful photos to capture the energy and take it with you. Isn’t that what we all try to do with our travel photos?
And there were plenty of beautiful sunsets.
All of this resulted in five photo books, four of which are currently for sale in my webshop. Many landscapes are also available there as luxury cards or prints to view and order.
In addition, the exhibition This too shall pass contains many of those beautiful views.
